week 11

I had a lot of fun this week printing, playing with pattern and really demolishing what was on the surface last week.

week 10

The way it goes for me is each week something takes precedence, last week I painted more than anything and this week I had a huge project due in fashion and it's all clean and white and so it doesn't lend itself to back and forth. This week is already a huge painting week as I was working on these 2 big ones as it got dark last night and then popped up at 7 and started back at it. These photos are from this morning, but the paintings already look much different. Also the one with monocle man got a trip to the the shower today. There was still a bunch of wet orange when I brought it in and it was just too much, I mean I will definitely be covering up a good bit of it anyway but I wanted to see what would happen if I rinsed it and I don't have a hose.

Also attached, the paintings in the yard just a minute ago.

week 9 meeting

Tom and I  skyped 78 min

notes from Tom (I typed them as he talked so they are a little disjointed.)
check out the radiant child - Basquiat documentary

1. Likes the turquoise, the composition is not bad, it's interesting. black dot helps give triangulation.
lacy, w structure, small delicate marks against the fogginess of the large shapes

2. contemporary, nice color palette

3. orange helps, new orange helps the garishness. straps it down, lots of preciousness, but still needs some other level of work.

5. can get lost in the shapes. done

6. break patriotic.

7. deal with creepy mans lips.

week 9

I guess it's comforting to know I'm in the right field. I spent a good bit of today watching paint dry and it was very entertaining. Paint is the most fascinating stuff! one of them is still wet. It's the wettest and on paper. I'm going to leave it out overnight I guess.
